About the Author
Fida Hussain Shah (born June 1, 1948) is a distinguished scholar, author, and humanitarian whose intellectual and spiritual journey spans continents and cultures. He earned his Master’s degree from the University of the Punjab in 1971 and later pursued advanced studies at the University of Oslo in 1973. His years in Norway, where he lived for more than a decade, provided him with deep exposure to progressive social, economic, and welfare systems that profoundly shaped his worldview.
Upon returning to Pakistan in 1984, the stark contrast between societal structures prompted a period of deep reflection. In 1986, this reflection evolved into an intensive study of the Holy Quran, approached not merely as a religious text but as a comprehensive framework for social justice, ethics, and human welfare. This marked a turning point in his life.
Since 1990, Fida Hussain Shah has dedicated himself to scholarship and service, authoring sixteen books on Quranic thought, interfaith harmony, justice, and the moral foundations of society. In keeping with the prophetic tradition of selfless service, all his works have been distributed free of cost, solely for the benefit of humanity.
His books and lectures have reached libraries, academic institutions, churches, and scholars across Pakistan, the United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden, and the United States, fostering dialogue and mutual understanding between faiths. Now retired and supported by the Norwegian social system, he continues his research and writing, with ongoing work focusing on the relationship between the Bible and the Quran and the societal signs of justice and injustice.
His life stands as a testament to lifelong learning, moral responsibility, and service through knowledge.
